"I would urge Muslims to remember that the brightest periods of Muslim history were ones when their libraries were filled to overflowing with the books and thought that have helped speed the progress of mankind. Those were periods of symbiosis rather than seclusion, curiosity rather than petrifaction, and belief in the value of intellectual and moral enlightenment rather than in solipsism and soliloquy.
