Special guest

Bismillah...

Never cross my mind, I will met her again at this city of sails. About a year ago, I met this humble fellow, who addressed herself 'kak ungku', at Wellington. And on Thursday, my cellphone rang... "assalamualaikum asiah, apa khabar? kak ungku nih....bla..bla...ok InsyaAllah petang nih kita jumpa ye...boleh cerita panjang..."

She is actually the ex-Chair of Malay Study at Victoria University of Wellington. Some people address her 'prof', some 'untie'...but with us (suhaimi and I)... 'kak ungku', (though there were times I slip off my tongue... kan prof...hehe...pastuh cover balik...kak ungku...

Alhamdulillah, she agreed to pay us a visit that evening. She was acompanied by another special person, wife of Allahyarham Nordin, postgraduate student of VUW. This arwah was very inspiring that VUW create a scholarship on his name. Click here for the scholarship. Alhamdulillah, Nordin's wife is now working at IIUM Library!...yes really (in fact, she was attached to KICT before joining the Library). (Moga Allah kurniakan kekuatan, ketabahan dan kemudahan pada beliau meneruskan hidup ini tanpa insan bergelar suami disisi)

That evening, we had a wonderful conversation. Hope they enjoyed Nasi Tomato that I cooked (my dad's recipe)... Later that night, when our guest has left and kids were asleep... I prayed, Oh Allah, how grateful I'm, coz I've a husband to rely on, who loves me sooo much, he is a shoulder for me to cry on when things get tough, a nanny for my kids when I study,... alhamdulillah...
